Community Gathering

Building a community of young ocean advocates

We aim to create a diverse, self-directed youth community that shares learning, supports peer-led action, and enables collaboration to address marine issues.

Our annual Community Gathering is a key part of the YSCS calendar and our core way to build our community and mobilise the next generation to stand up for our seas. With members from all across Scotland, the opportunity to gather in-person is priceless and our gathering aims to create a fun, relaxed and energising space for young people to meet each other, build their skills and get inspired for their own ocean advocacy.

We hold the gathering in different locations every year, provide support for travel costs, design an exciting and diverse programme of events and organise for an MSP to join us to give attendees an opportunity to put their policy and advocacy questions directly to decision-makers.
